On Tuesday, March 6, the Houston Gerontological Society welcomed more than 170 guests to Honoring the Past - Bridging the Future. During this special 25th anniversary celebration, we honored select Houston pioneers in the fields of gerontology and geriatrics as well as recognized the contributions of individuals mentored by these great leaders, and who have become the field's next generation of pioneers. Proceeds from Honoring the Past - Bridging the Future funded the Ruth DeHart Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship honoring of one of the founders of HGS and an early leader in the community of geriatric professionals.
