HGS was organized in 1986 to inform, exchange and disseminate knowledge and information between and among varied professionals serving the elderly and to reward educational growth through scholarships in order to strengthen and enhance current and future services for the geriatric population.

HGS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Membership is open to all who are interested in the aging process and in enhancing life for the aging population.

HGS membership includes physicians, nurses, social workers, students, attorneys, senior care facility managers, professors, researchers and other caring community members.
